New photos from Norwich

Friday, November 30th, 2007

A lovely chap by the name of Sam Blake, has taken some photos of us at a recent gig in Norwich. You’ll note that the guy who looks a little inebriated is not infact the newest member of TTNG, but he did make the night memorable for us. I’m glad he joined us onstage for a dance. Check out the photos here:

New music I’ve been enjoying

Friday, November 30th, 2007

So I’ve been listening to a bunch of bands recently that I think some of you may enjoy. Check them out:

Pennines (American Footbally type stuff)
Hreda (widly post-rock that is actually good and still relevant)
Pinback (just damn good indie-pop)
Robotosaurus (brutal-experi-metal)

Welcome to the new look website

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Hello you! Long time no see and all that jazz. This is the ‘new look’ This Town Needs Guns website. We were getting pretty bored of the way the old site looked and with blogs being so easy to update and everything, we thought we’d just jump on the band wagon. Hopefully it will also encourage you (yes you, the person reading this) to get more involved with the band and with comments and stuff, we’re hoping you can let us know what you think.

News, Dartz tour and FREE CD!

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Since we got back from our touring efforts we’ve been busy writing new material. We’re hoping to get enough new songs together to record our first album in March next year. There is somewhere really special and with a producer who is particularly ace, where we’d like to record, but more news on that as and when things are confirmed in the next few months.Sales of the Cats and Cats and Cats split have gone well but there are still some left that you can snap up from your local record store, or from the lovely Big Scary Monsters.

We’ve got a couple of touring appointments booked before we go into the studio next year. The first of which will be in December with Dartz and Secondsmile. Details of tour dates are on in the ‘Upcoming gigs‘ section, but you can have a quick peruse of the dates by looking at this flyer:

At the gigs, you will be able to pick up a FREE CD with 8 tracks from BSM bands and 8 tracks from Xtra-Mile bands. That’s 16 songs for FREE! It really doesn’t get much better than that :-)
